Institute for OneWorld Health Announces New Chief Financial Officer
Former President and Chief Financial Officer of Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Joins Non-Profit Pharmaceutical Company Leadership Team
The Institute for OneWorld Health, the US-based non-profit pharmaceutical company that develops drugs for people with neglected infectious diseases in the developing world, today announced the appointment of Robert E. Farrell, J.D. as its Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining OneWorld Health, Farrell served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that develops proprietary therapeutics for the treatment of central nervous system disorders, cardiovascular disease and bone disease. He also served as Titan’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1996 to 2008.
“We are delighted to welcome such a highly experienced CFO to OneWorld Health’s leadership team,” said Dr. Richard Chin, M.D., OneWorld Health's Chief Executive Officer. “Bob’s extensive biotechnology and finance experience will make a tremendous contribution to our work at this pivotal time.”
Previously, Mr. Farrell held senior positions at dialysis services provider Fresenius USA, Inc. from 1991 until August 1996, where he served as Corporate Group Vice President, Vice President Administration, Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel.

Mr. Farrell has also served as Vice President, Marketing and President of TXL Securities at Genstar Corporation, as Associate General Counsel at Brae Corporation and as an associate attorney at Crane & Hawkins. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from Hastings College of Law, University of California.
