Institute for OneWorld Health (iOWH) Hires Chief Operating Officer

Former Chiron Executive Bryan L. Walser, MD, JD joins the iOWH team

The Institute for OneWorld Health, the first nonprofit pharmaceutical company in the United States, announced today that Bryan L. Walser, MD, JD, would join the company as Chief Operating Officer.

“Dr. Walser’s background in global health, coupled with his corporate and business experience, make him a valuable addition to OneWorld Health’s senior management team,” said Dr. Victoria Hale, Founder and CEO.

Walser previously served as Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Affairs for Chiron Corporation in Emeryville, California, where he had been responsible for a variety of strategic and operational initiatives since 2001. Prior to his work at Chiron, Walser had been a principal with WRW Advisors in Los Angeles, California, and an emergency room physician at UCLA. Before that, he worked for five years with The Boston Consulting Group’s healthcare practice, based in Los Angeles. Walser holds a BS in Biology from Stanford University and an MD from the University of Virginia, as well as a JD, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. Walser has also served as a Fulbright Fellow in Indonesia, and conducted biomedical and epidemiological research in the favelas of northeastern Brazil.
