OneWorld Health Announces Two Executive AppointmentsSenior Staff Support Growth of Nonprofit Pharmaceutical Company San Francisco, CA - October 4, 2005 The Institute for OneWorld Health today announced the addition of two senior executives, Cynthia Rask, M.D. as Vice President of Clinical Development and Gordon Lefevre as Vice President, Finance and Accounting.
As Vice President of Clinical Development, Cynthia Rask, M.D., is a member of the senior management team responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the infrastructure necessary to support both early and advanced clinical trials, including global portfolio strategies. Dr. Rask has extensive experience in the design, execution and analysis of clinical trials, as well as the regulatory pathways involved in successful drug product development. Her most recent position as Director of the Division of Clinical Evaluation and Pharmacology/Toxicology in the Office of Cellular, Tissue and Gene Therapies at the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research included regulatory, policy, scientific and management responsibilities. As a Senior Clinical Scientist and Medical Director at Genentech, Dr. Rask directed the company’s clinical neuroscience program. She also oversaw clinical development of an antiepileptic drug program in the role of Associate Director of Clinical Research at Abbott Laboratories. Prior to her work in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Rask worked as a clinical investigator and was on the faculty at Dartmouth Medical School. She received her A.B. from Cornell University and her M.D. from the University of Minnesota.
Gordon Lefevre, M.B.A., Vice President, Finance and Accounting, oversees the overall financial planning and accounting practices of OneWorld Health. His professional history includes financial positions with The Clorox Company, Alza Corporation, and most recently, Genentech, Inc. where he supported the commercial activities for the BioOncology franchise. His responsibilities as Alza’s Financial Controller and Director of Finance included business forecasting and strategic planning. Mr. Lefevre participated in Clorox’s Finance and Accounting Development program for more than 10 years, working locally and abroad on assignments in the United States, Latin America, and Canada. He earned an M.B.A. from Duke University and a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
